Stone-tiled bathroom with freestanding bath and walk-in shower — bathroom installation
Accessible Bathrooms · Guildford

Accessible Bathrooms Guildford

Accessible bathrooms designed to age with you — level-access walk-in showers, comfort-height fixtures and discreetly built-in grab supports, all without the clinical look. Designed and installed in Guildford by a team with over a decade in the trade.

Accessibility, done properly

Future-proofing a home shouldn't mean a clinical bathroom.

Accessible bathrooms have a reputation for looking institutional — plastic grab rails, low-quality trays, awkward finishes. It doesn't have to be that way. Every accessible bathroom we design in Guildford uses the same materials, lighting and joinery as any other bathroom we build; the accessibility features are engineered in from the start, not bolted on afterwards.

  • Level-access walk-in showers with linear drainage
  • Comfort-height wall-hung WCs with concealed cisterns
  • Discreet, elegant grab supports in brushed metal finishes
  • Wide clear-opening doors and turning space where possible
  • Non-slip flooring that still looks considered
  • Practical storage and vanities with knee-space where needed

What we cover

How we approach accessible design.

01

Level-access walk-in showers

Removing any threshold to step over, with correctly falling wet-room construction underneath.

02

Comfort-height fixtures

Wall-hung WCs and vanity units set at the right height to reduce strain over time.

03

Discreet grab supports

Brushed metal grab rails and fold-down shower seating that read as design details, not medical fittings.

04

Accessible layouts

Clear routes, turning space and ease of movement planned around how the room is actually used.

05

Non-slip flooring

Large-format tiles and vinyl options with genuine slip-resistance ratings suitable for wet areas.

06

Future-proof planning

Layouts that work today and can absorb further changes later without ripping everything out.

Accessible bathroom design and installation in Guildford

Accessibility starts at the planning stage. Through our bathroom design service we look at door widths, turning space, the reach to controls, the height of the basin and WC, where supports will be needed now and where they might be needed later, and how the shower can be entered without a step. Getting those decisions right on paper is far cheaper than retrofitting them.

The construction is usually a fully tanked wet room with a linear drain and slip-resistant porcelain, finished to the same standard as any luxury bathroom we install. We design and fit accessible bathrooms across Guildford, Merrow, Burpham, Stoughton and Bellfields, often as part of a wider bathroom installation.

The process

From first call to final walk-through.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We come out to your home in Guildford or one of the nearby villages, see how the room gets used day to day, take proper measurements and talk honestly about what's not working.

  2. 02

    Design

You get a workable layout with sanitaryware, tile and storage suggestions and, where useful, a 3D visual so you know what the finished room will look like before a tile is ordered.

  3. 03

    Quotation

An itemised written quote setting out labour, materials, timescales and preparation work — clear and fixed before anything starts.

  4. 04

    Installation

Your team fits the bathroom with dust sheets down, a clean-down at the end of every day and regular updates — typically two to three weeks on site.

  5. 05

    Final inspection

A thorough walk-through, snagging, aftercare advice and a written workmanship guarantee — and we're still contactable afterwards if you need us.

Our upstairs bathroom was an odd shape and we had no idea how to make it work. The designer came back with a layout we'd never have pictured ourselves, then the same team carried out the installation. Having one company handle both stages meant nothing got lost in translation, and the finished room matches the drawings exactly.

Nothing in our bathroom had been touched since we bought the house. The team moved the shower, fitted a double vanity and the room now feels twice the size it was. Tidy, punctual and the final invoice matched the quote exactly, which made a nice change.

We were wary of putting a wet room upstairs, but the tanking and drainage were explained properly before any work began. It's completely watertight, the tiling is spot on and the finished floor drains beautifully. Couldn't fault the attention to detail.

New ensuite off our loft bedroom. It's a small footprint, but the layout makes it feel far more generous than it should. Work finished a day ahead of schedule with just two minor snags, both sorted within the week.

A full master bathroom with a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and stone finishes throughout. The quality of the finishing is superb — mitred corners, dead-level floors, every silicone line dead straight. They were also honest about where to spend the budget and where it wasn't worth it, which we really valued.

A cramped bathroom that never really worked for our family. It's been redesigned around wall-hung fittings, a walk-in shower and a big mirror, and it feels like an entirely different room now. Over a decade doing this clearly shows — nothing seemed to faze them.
