Ensuites tend to come in two forms: the developer-fitted ensuite from the 1990s or 2000s that's now tired and cramped, and the brand-new ensuite carved out of a loft or a generous bedroom. Both start with the same question — where can the waste actually go? We check the soil stack, joist direction and available fall before any layout is drawn, so the plan is realistic from the outset.
Layout is worked out through our bathroom design service, and small-room tactics do most of the heavy lifting: a wall-hung WC and vanity, a walk-in shower or a wet room floor instead of a boxy enclosure, a large mirror, one tile format throughout and lighting that makes the room feel bigger than it is. Where a bath is wanted in a family ensuite, we'll plan a freestanding or built-in tub alongside the shower.
Most ensuite refits are finished within two weeks; a new ensuite with fresh drainage and electrics usually takes two to three. Ensuites are often part of a wider bathroom installation or refit project across Guildford, Merrow, Burpham and Stoughton.
