Bathroom installers in Guildford who handle every trade

A full bathroom installation is one of the more involved projects a home takes on. It touches plumbing, electrics, structural preparation, waterproofing, tiling, joinery, ventilation and decorating — often all within a room the size of a small office. Where those trades are split across separate contractors, details get lost in the gaps: a shower tray that doesn't fall correctly, an extractor that never clears the mirror, tiles that don't line up around the vanity.

We carry out every one of those trades ourselves. One team, one point of contact, one written quote for the whole job. More than a decade in business is what makes that possible — our installations across Guildford, Merrow, Stoughton, Bellfields and Onslow Village are calm to live through and still look right years on.

Need help planning the room first? Start with bathroom design

Plenty of people come to us knowing they want a new bathroom but unsure of the layout. That's what our bathroom design service is for. We measure the room, examine the plumbing and structure, and put forward realistic layouts and product choices before anything is ordered — so installation follows a plan already tested against the room.

Design is included with every complete bathroom installation we carry out in Guildford. If the room only needs updating rather than starting from scratch, a bathroom refit might be the better fit, and we'll say so at survey.

Plumbing, pipework and water pressure

Every good bathroom hides its most important work behind the walls. We re-run first-fix pipework in copper or quality plastic, secure it against expansion noise, fit isolation valves on every appliance and set waste pipes with the correct fall so drainage stays quiet and reliable.

Where existing water pressure won't support a modern rainfall shower or dual-outlet thermostatic valve, we flag it at survey and specify the right upgrade — a mains booster, an unvented cylinder or a re-routed cold feed — rather than fit something that will disappoint later. Repositioning the WC, basin, bath or shower is routine work for us; we simply confirm the drainage runs stack up before quoting.

Bathroom electrics, extraction and lighting

Bathrooms carry their own zoning rules under Part P of the building regulations, and everything we fit is certified accordingly. That covers the shower isolator, IP-rated downlights, LED mirrors, illuminated niches, underfloor heating thermostats and shaver sockets. Wiring runs are planned around where furniture will sit so nothing ends up in an awkward spot.

A quiet, correctly ducted extractor fan is one of the more important parts of any bathroom. We size units to the room, duct them outside (never into the loft space) and, where possible, wire humidistat control so extraction runs when the room actually needs it, not just when the light's on.

Waterproofing, tiling and finishing

Every wet zone — shower enclosure, wet-room floor, splash area — is fully tanked with a bonded waterproof membrane before a single tile is laid. Movement joints are positioned correctly, silicone lines are masked so they finish cleanly, and natural stone is sealed.

Porcelain and ceramic tiles behave differently and we choose adhesives and cutting methods to suit. Large-format porcelain especially needs careful back-buttering and levelling systems to avoid lippage. Our approach is set out in more detail on the bathroom tiling page.

Luxury bathroom installation, ensuites, shower rooms and small bathrooms

Installations vary hugely in scale. Around Guildford, Godalming and Shalford a good deal of our work is luxury bathroom installation — larger family bathrooms with freestanding baths, double vanities, walk-in showers, natural stone and underfloor heating, where finishing has to match the quality of the products chosen.

At the other end of the scale we fit plenty of compact family bathrooms, ensuites in converted lofts or spare bedrooms, and shower rooms where a bath is no longer earning its keep. Small rooms often benefit most from a proper plan, since every centimetre has to work. For a first-floor or loft ensuite, a fully tanked wet room frequently makes the space feel far bigger than it is.

Bathroom installation costs in Guildford

What a bathroom installation costs in Guildford depends far more on the specifics of the job than any headline figure. The main factors are the size of the room, its current condition, whether the layout is changing, the amount of plumbing alteration involved, the sanitaryware and brassware chosen, the tiles and flooring, whether you want a bath or walk-in shower, the extent of electrical work, and the level of finish — underfloor heating, bespoke joinery, feature tiling and similar.

A straightforward like-for-like bathroom installation typically runs 10 to 14 working days on site. Layout changes, wet rooms, feature-wall tiling or bespoke joinery can push that to three or four weeks. We provide a day-by-day programme alongside the quote so you know exactly what to expect.

Rather than throw out a number that means nothing without seeing the room, we'll visit, measure, listen to what you're after and produce a fully itemised written quote at no cost. We can supply everything through our trade suppliers or fit sanitaryware you've bought yourself — either way, we'll say honestly if something isn't a good long-term choice before it's ordered.

The process

From first call to final walk-through.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We come out to your home in Guildford or one of the nearby villages, see how the room gets used day to day, take proper measurements and talk honestly about what's not working.

  2. 02

    Design

You get a workable layout with sanitaryware, tile and storage suggestions and, where useful, a 3D visual so you know what the finished room will look like before a tile is ordered.

  3. 03

    Quotation

An itemised written quote setting out labour, materials, timescales and preparation work — clear and fixed before anything starts.

  4. 04

    Installation

Your team fits the bathroom with dust sheets down, a clean-down at the end of every day and regular updates — typically two to three weeks on site.

  5. 05

    Final inspection

A thorough walk-through, snagging, aftercare advice and a written workmanship guarantee — and we're still contactable afterwards if you need us.

Our upstairs bathroom was an odd shape and we had no idea how to make it work. The designer came back with a layout we'd never have pictured ourselves, then the same team carried out the installation. Having one company handle both stages meant nothing got lost in translation, and the finished room matches the drawings exactly.

Nothing in our bathroom had been touched since we bought the house. The team moved the shower, fitted a double vanity and the room now feels twice the size it was. Tidy, punctual and the final invoice matched the quote exactly, which made a nice change.

We were wary of putting a wet room upstairs, but the tanking and drainage were explained properly before any work began. It's completely watertight, the tiling is spot on and the finished floor drains beautifully. Couldn't fault the attention to detail.

New ensuite off our loft bedroom. It's a small footprint, but the layout makes it feel far more generous than it should. Work finished a day ahead of schedule with just two minor snags, both sorted within the week.

A full master bathroom with a freestanding bath, walk-in shower and stone finishes throughout. The quality of the finishing is superb — mitred corners, dead-level floors, every silicone line dead straight. They were also honest about where to spend the budget and where it wasn't worth it, which we really valued.

A cramped bathroom that never really worked for our family. It's been redesigned around wall-hung fittings, a walk-in shower and a big mirror, and it feels like an entirely different room now. Over a decade doing this clearly shows — nothing seemed to faze them.
